-port of kaskinen
The Port of Kaskinen has gained a significant addition to its international connections with the
launch of a new RoRo shipping option for large unit cargo between Kaskinen and Lübeck/
Travemünde on June 4, 2025. The service enables direct transport of large unit loads from Kaskinen
to Germany and further on to Central Europe and the UK.
This new route provides an efficient and fast option for international freight transport in both export
and import directions. The RoRo vessel can carry general cargo such as sawn timber, metal,
engineering industry products, as well as bulk goods in containers. In addition to containers, trailers
and cassettes are also used as transport units.
RoRo (Roll-on/Roll-off) traffic especially supports logistics operators who value smooth
connections, fast turnaround times, and flexible capacity. The connection marks an important step
in the Port of Kaskinen’s development towards a more diverse and competitive range of services.
