Port of Kaskinen Ltd had a good year 2020

Despite the Covid-19 situation the port had the best year since 2008 with a growth of 11 % compared to 2019. The port has grown in volume by 25% in three years, and the trend will continue this year. The port handled 1 212 000 tonnes of goods and the turnover increased by 14%.

This year the port aims to construct a new 165 m long quey and invest in a digital management and port control system that will be launched in February.

– These measures are taken to be able to meet the growing demand of services, lower emissions and expand the port operations. The port strategy is to triple its cargo volume throughput and turnover by 2030.

-If we succeed the port will then have 800 – 900 vessels calling the port annually and also created over 40 new jobs, says managing director Patrik Hellman.
